Our vacation began at Hotel Albachiara, a peaceful, family-run spot just steps from the sea. The rooms were bright and clean, the atmosphere unpretentious, and the hosts made us feel like part of the family from day one. What truly stood out was the breakfast, hands down the best Italian breakfast service you could think of. Freshly baked pastries, local jams, creamy cappuccinos, fruit, and savory bites, all served with warmth and care, setting the tone for perfect days ahead.
Beach Bliss at Malpasso
Malpasso Beach quickly became our daily retreat, crystal-clear water, smooth pebbles, and that wild, untouched beauty that only Liguria can offer. But what truly makes this place unforgettable is Mario, the heart and soul of Malpasso. He has created more than just a beach club, he’s built a space with a true sense of belonging. From the perfectly curated music to the beautifully plated food and spot-on cocktails, everything feels thoughtful, relaxed, and effortlessly cool. It’s the kind of place where you can spend an entire day and feel like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Aperitivo with the View: Il Gabbiano
If you’re after the perfect Aperol Spritz, Gabbiano delivers it with flair. Served ice-cold and just bitter enough, their spritz comes with a front-row seat to the sea. It’s the ideal stop after a long beach day toes still sandy, sun setting over the horizon, and that first sip telling you, you’re exactly where you need to be.
Sunset Cocktails at La Ruggia: A 5 Star Experience
At La Ruggia, we enjoyed one of the most memorable happy hours of the trip. The terrace, with its breathtaking ocean views, set the stage for a truly elevated experience. We sipped hand-crafted cocktails that were as beautiful as they were delicious, made by bartenders who were both professional and genuinely friendly. The vibe was relaxed yet refined a five-star experience in every sense, where the service, setting, and drinks all came together in perfect harmony.
Dining Under the Stars at Bagni Est – Ciccio’s
Some of our most unforgettable evenings were spent at Bagni Est – Ciccio’s, under the superb care of Fabrizio. His warmth, professionalism, and true Italian hospitality made every dinner feel special. With the sea just steps away and the sky glowing at sunset, we enjoyed fresh seafood, perfectly cooked pasta, and the best mussels we’ve ever had, dishes that celebrate the simplicity and richness of Ligurian tradition. Fabrizio, aka Ciccio, doesn’t just run a restaurant, he creates experiences that stay with you.
La Giara in Varigotti: Where Beach Life Meets Elegance
A short drive away, La Giara in Varigotti elevated the beach experience. This refined seaside club offered plush loungers, impeccable service, and an ambiance that whispered dolce vita with every passing moment. With the waves lapping at the shore and a light lunch of grilled calamari, it felt like time had pressed pause just for us.
A Place of Flavors, Friendship, and Hospitality
Finale Ligure isn’t just beautiful, it’s generous. From the abundant seafood to the heartfelt hospitality, there’s a deep sense of welcome in everything. It’s in the way waiters remember your name, locals offer directions with a smile, and strangers become friends over shared plates and sunset toasts.
This little stretch of Liguria offered us more than a vacation, it gave us connection, calm, and countless reasons to come back.
